Blue and Gold. The dominant colours in this attractive landscape. The village nestles below the majestic mountains where little traces of snow still linger. The river in this valley flows under the old stone bridge and I loved painting the reflections on the flowing water. For the foreground areas with the river gravel - I first painted a dark colour and then spread coarse pumice gel over the whole area. When this had hardened, I then lightly brushed various colours, mostly blues and white, to make the rough textured surface appear just like gravel.
